It is our mission to build a profitable biodiesel production facility in the Flathead Valley, while setting the standard of environmental stewardship. It is our goal to revitalize the farming market in this region. Western Montana, or more specifically the Flathead Valley, is capable of providing a predictable quantity and quality of oil and feed to various wholesale distributors. Flathead Biodiesel is a medium term company designed to aid in the transition from petroleum fuels and lubricants to renewable, alternative energy sources.

In simple terms, Flathead Biodiesel will grow it’s own, and purchase primarily camelina seed for the oil extraction process. Three products will be produced and sold based on current commodity prices. The first product will be oil obtained from cold pressing the seed. This first press produces oil that is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and has a more stable shelf life than Flax seed. The second product will be oil extracted from heated pressing of the seed a second time. This oil will be used to produce and sell renewable biodiesel. Lastly, the pressing of the seed two times produces cattle feed with the consistency similar to that of corn flakes. The cattle feed will be sold to local dairy farmers at a more cost effective price than current feeds.
